Sossna Demasu holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Asmara in Eritrea. Before joining National Capital Legal Services, she worked as a legal professional for a range of government and nonprofit organizations, including the International Rescue Committee and the Embassy of Egypt. Before becoming part of the NCLS team, Sossna spent more than five years as a legal assistant at Leake Fesseha, an immigration law firm in Arlington.
Sossna Demasu has more than 15 years of experience with immigration petitions. Her work spans several areas of immigration law, including political asylum matters for applicants from different countries, immigration court proceedings, family-based petitions, adjustment of status, U.S. citizenship and other immigration matters.
Sossna Demasu is fluent in English, Tigrinya and Amharic.
